Patria Vieja y Querida- this mixed media piece was inspired by a photographer from Italy, Tina Modotti, who took a dramatic and inspiring picture that for me captivated the struggle of Mexican women in 1928 during a strike. The rough surface in this piece signifies the importance of public mural work that has over exposed our connection to the earth and change in seasons for the masses.
